in the last 2 weeks, we have a show of lazyness…

Ok, another reason why the vb.org community will hate me… my statement, they are lazy.

since the release of the beta version, 2 weeks ago, about 60 releases were made under the 4.0 category… ALL OF THEM are just updated existing products of the 3.8 category…

no imagination
no usage of the new 4.0 engine
not even checking if their tools are still useful in the 4.0 environment…

why?… because even with the 3.8 generation, 75% of the releases made at vb.org are based on existing products, just updated or recoded… but there is no imagination in their mind or what?

that will always sustain me, to see how much power they get to code tools that nobody want… they see 1000 downloads for their tools, but how much are really useful?… people always download as much plugins as possible to install them and see how they act on their site, but are these products really efficient for their community? not sure.

i’ve seen enough of overloaded sites where people were suggested to add more and more tools, but at the end, these tools were just slowing down the usage of their site because the visitors were too occupied to learn how to navigate that they forgot to come back for the content.

i thought that the 4.0 generation would bring new ideas and new concepts from the coders… looks like i was dreaming.

Well, it leaves more room open for you to earn more money at least.
And I agree on the overloading with junk, hence why I only use thanks buttons and iTrader.

    hum, having more room for money, that’s something i don’t have… rofl…

You can always find room for money – let the kid sleep outside in a tent and use their room for your money 🙂 haha.

Maybe that thing I asked you for on vb.com could be your next big thing on here haha, I have seen many requests for it and people at .org continue to ignore it so you could possibly use it as another thing on here haha.

I agree vb.org are lazy and new things need to be created rather than the same boring stuff over and over – take a quick look through 3.7 thread and then 3.8 and it’s the same mods, looks like 4.0 is heading the same way.

oh, so you are that guy with the big budget… rofl

    have a nice day… 😉

Yes very big budget it looks like haha – no but at least I am trying to think outside the box and not just going over the same mods that are there – I look forward to what this site will bring when vb4 is released and will continue to support you here (so don’t go disappearing).

    Best of luck with everything

no, i’m not vanishing… but may take a little time to upgrade all the scripts to 4.0…

as indicated in the past, i’m not keen to 4.0, the engine is not really different from 3.8, only a few modifications, so most of the features you have in my products will still work with only one or two line edits.

the only big gap to fill will be the template edits… horrible new engine.

I think what we are seeing is the less experienced coders of the community writing insignificant scripts. As soon as the more experienced coders get the hands on cold and familiarize themselves with the new system I think me may see some innovative, creative scripts that show what the new system is capable of. So far, I can’t see great benefits with the new engine but I’m more than accepting to be shown wrong in the future.

Personally, I think it is absolutely pointless even updating existing scripts let alone developers write brand new scripts during the beta stage which to me is more like an alpha stage.

I don’t see any chance of better scripts. The reason being the engine doesn’t have ANY benefits over 3.8 as far as I can tell they only took the 3.8 engine beefed up the template engine and added public and private to the classes…. Overall not a big improvement… The style engine does seem to be better though.

What disappoints me is that most of the really popular mods HAVENT been updated. =

  10. nexia dit :

    haven’t yet…

and some of the most popular coders left the building as well, so there is less chances to see the very useful tools to be undertaken.
