I think it’s under new management but I could be wrong. I think they are just adding features not because people want them just to add features it definitly looks bloated

it’s Ziki who took over… he use a different name, but the mood of his new site is easy to see… 😉

anyway, they try to add features nobody wants… some of the features that are seen in the Deluxe version would have been placed in the free version, people pay for basic stuff…

from what you say about your releases engine, you’ll be way beyond this, and you’ll be able to sell some of this system… people are using vBMA because there is nothing better, but a lot of coders are waiting for something more from Jelsoft… we’re the solution i guess…

  3. Drew dit :

Yeah I’m really focused on keeping it simple but have complex features..

I honestly don’t think Jelsoft would make any sort of releases engine it doesn’t seem like there current direction of mostly social orianted features

  4. nexia dit :

actually Jelsoft already sell their releases engine to corporations… that’s not my focus, but i know that detail…

  5. Drew dit :

Oh.. That suprises me a lot but jelsoft has a lot lately

  6. nexia dit :

Jelsoft started to sell their release engine when they coded it, 6 years ago… i had a version in hands when they started… why would they code such an engine and not sell it, their goal is to make profits… they do not advertise it, but when someone have 5000$ in budget and need a releases engine, the guys popup with the offer…

  7. Drew dit :

$5000 that is pretty expensive even for a Jelsoft addon.

  8. nexia dit :

not so expensive when you have full service and support. Jelsoft tag their support at 100$/h … so yeap, it’s expensive when you know they loose their time supporting corporate clients instead of coding their engine…

  9. Drew dit :

    yeah but that is jelsoft

On a note about Ziki, i have an account on kx design, and today i got an email from them with:

    Hey there!

So a black guy walks into a mailbox, orders a drink and asks: “Did you vote in this poll? Points/Shop System – KXDesign “. You say no,but you are going to and then he smiles, pays the bill and nicely leaves :).

    Haha…I suck I know. 😀

    Komplex

i just realized how important how much professionalism matters…

  11. nexia dit :

    ROFL … that’s something Gio~logist could’ve posted as well… lol

btw, vote for no, so we will not have him as a competitor if we code a points engine ourselves.. lol

  12. Drew dit :

    lol ok will do

  13. nexia dit :

looks like Ziki really don’t like me… he deleted my account twice in the last days.

oh, and here: Open Directory – Computers: Programming: Languages: PHP: Scripts: Forums: vBulletin

if you see in the bottom of the page, the Editor of the category… he registered himself to be in control of any vbulletin site who registered in the ODP… this is illegal if i may say, he is in competition with all the others, he can delete any… strangely he activated my entry today… he refused to do so in the last weeks, but i reported the situation to the META editor, and i suppose he had a chat.. lol

i hate that, i’d like some other vb coders to complain as well, but i have no control on what these guys do… they do not care usually… the ODP seems so far for them, but it control all the yahoo and altavista sources…

  14. Drew dit :

yeah, he almost seems to be trying to “hide” everyone else instead of actually coding his mods.
