Welcome visitors. This post is the result of the Map Contest of October first. The guys from PrinceVidz servers won the first contest here, and I was very happy with the map I designed for them. There was a little challenge tho… I suggested to use the Logo of the Youtuber, and they accepted. So here is the description. You can visit the client’s Youtube channel by clicking the logo…
The celebrity had one single word to describe the map… « INSANE« … it’s not a feeble word coming from PrinceVidz himself!
Some fun here:
Hi guys, here are some explanations about the map you requested from me/us. The featured image above is the screenshot I sent to OxiniX at first, and everybody was happy… But i had to rework it for the final… Here are the two parts of the map….
1- the demo you can visit on site is built with a dozen of plugins to add some fun, but also with some custom settings from the game itself, like activation of the halloween stuff. the free horses, etc.
2- the map is vanilla, entirely… you need no script to run it at that stage. The plugins are for the gameplay, not to configure the map.
3- All the original monuments are replaced by custom ones that are similar… like the DoubleOilRig from Abracadaver, replace both oilrigs with a twist.
4- Half of the monuments are buildable inside or around, so people can appropriate them and do their bases in them, or a shop, whatever.
5- Bus Stops… there are 8, at least 4 are buildable based on PrinceVidz preference, 3 are custom made.
6- The goal of this configuration is to avoid having to manipulate loots, so there are tons of them, even in the dark of the woods, so it’s less plugins involved.
7- Zombies, Mummies and Murderers are active, because Halloween!
8- Icebergs are reachable by walking, so it add more fun to raid someone in the snow!
9- Raids and PVP are the most important topics here… a lot of elements on the map helps build solid bases and hard to reach locations. The crown and hands of the logo add some valleys to the game!
10- Zergs… PrinceVidz hate zergs… so, we add a little twist here. Most of the locations where zergs can install themselves are surrounded by sharp steep borders, giving the solos and small teams a good advantage to snipe and basecamp zergs. Oh and yes, wild horses are back!
11- as PrinceVidz said on his August 1st video, Rock Formations are his best place because solos can hide at low cost and be protected… So this map contains 10 rock formations that are specific to Solos to hide and build even to a 4 floors 2×2 under them. Zergs hate these locations, so it’s a good thing.
12- PVP at its best, with snipers location and easy to navigate paths.
13- King of the Hill location that if a clan take control over it, that gives them a good advantage on the map control.
14- Monuments are nameless, due to a bug that has to be fixed in some next update where we can name the monuments as we please.
15- Fight for the Cargo Ship… great! Fight for the Cargo Ship inland… WTF! same for the OilRigs… there will be more clan fights if they do not need boats to go. And yeap, we have 2 cargo paths, and yes, more fun, but also more challenge as when they cross the same path, scientists from one boat can help the others.
16- some easter-eggs… like the Unseated Lake… we can also have a trucks graveyard, but this will be for another map.
17- Street Lights, because it’s fun to see our enemies by night from time to time… and to be in safe-zones where zombies do not attack… because it is known, they fear light!… but is it?
18- a British Accent… remember the White Cliffs of Dover? due to the map structure, we have them all around the island. There are rocks formations hiding them in some places, but the entire island is high walled… making it fun to snipe people from ashore.
19- Creeks… because it’s fun to hide and seek while PVPing or simply to install your base and hide one or two stories in the decor.
20- Fishing Village… damn, too small and no PVP?! come on. We have Wheatley’s Sailed Away monument, the biggest fishing village possible, with other shops, and no safe-zone!
21 – The Bandit Camp with a twist and twice the size, and no, you’re not alone… because we need it.
… and the sentiment that this map represent a new change from the boring Procedural Map that always give the same feeling…
you’re welcome !
