The end of the great beans

It’s a french expression, « La fin des haricots »… that means it’s the end of free distribution of gifts…

Lately, i was chatting with some coders who come here as friends and they were posting technical questions i was happy to answer because they were subscribers with the will to learn…

But at the same time, i was asked to help support on some hacks/tweaks that were small and simple. The only problem with that is that i now saw that these guys were not at all interested in learning, they were interested to have free codes for their profits. Some guy even had the arrogance to release paid scripts i coded with him… that is not a problem when they are small etc, but without any credit, and actually charging WAY TOO MUCH for the result, i think it’s insulting the clients.

So for these morons who think they can leech my time, i just say Hey, get out of my lawn

If you need my help on a code now, you will have to do like anyother client… you hire me. I suppose it will break down the count of newbie coders who come here and say « Hi buddy »… and that’s good. This site is not about leeching codes, it’s about professional enhancements for the pleasure of it. I’m not loosing my time with coders anymore… go to vb.org if you want wizzies.

So sad.. Really does annoy me when you see « familiar faces » that leech all they can from vbulletin.org and such, and don’t share anything in return. Instead they try to make every penny then can and go commercial..

I wonder how they picked up their PHP knowledge? Hmm.

PHP is actually really easy to understand, half of it is in english, the other part is in french… (str_replace vs in_array), and most of the functions are mathematical functions…

you do not need a big coding experience to manipulate PHP… a good example is me… i’m far from being a coder. i do not develop logics or structures, i merely touch the protocols to make my tools… copy/paste is the key!

after 13 or 14 years developing projects like Postnuke, phpBB, IPB, vB and WordPress, i think i know enough of PHP to make it work, but not to « invent » anything…

leechers are the lazy part of things… they are lazy, but remember that the ones in society who are in control are not the most brilliant, they are the ones with the bigger mouth.
